Auspicious for Awais as run continues

COLEBRIDGE TOMAHAWKS v DROITWICH SPA SHARKS

This season has seen lots of encounters between Colebridge Tomahawks and Bromsgrove/Redditch Division 1 teams fielding other Colebridge members, the latest being the return fixture against Droitwich Spa Sharks on Monday. Elliot Brandwood was the odd man out for the visitors, joining regular Colebridge members Mahroof Hussain and Michael Klein. With Rod Lewis side-lined through injury, it was left to the three mainly responsible for Tomahawks’ promotion from Division Two last season to show what they could do. As expected, Awais Muhammed continued his undefeated march toward the individual title, with three straight wins, although he was made to work hard for his points by all three Sharks. Neil Wheatley found his best form to record emphatic wins over the two Ms and take the doubles with Awais, but lost in five to Eliot. Sadly, John Overton did not gain the reward that he had hoped for from the use of a new bat and failed to win a game. So another win for Tomahawks although it seems likely that Sharks were not too unhappy with their four points.
