Colebridge at The National Cadet League

Report and pictures by Ed Lynn ( Head Coach )

Another great day at NCL today (March 19th), although Colebridge A finished joint 2nd (so we thought). No medalsthough, as we lost to Woodfield 4-2, so they took second place on head to head results. Ben Rycroft Stanley was the star of the show for us, winning 8 from 10. Nathaniel Saunders has another 4 years as a cadet, Sophie Rinnhofer another 2, and Ben another year too. Our B team finished bottom of division 1 but did themselves proud by qualifying in the first place.

Harry and Megan who attend regional training every Thursday at Wood Green were representing Woodfield, and played their part in a great last day for their club. They have some great youngsters coming through.

Stroud were too good yet again, and did the double. Well deserved in the end.

Colebridge is probably in the strongest position right now to really push on next season in NCL.
Next season we will field at least 3 NCL teams, and hopefully do the business. Woodfield also have plenty coming through, so it will be fiercely competitive.

It’s also worth mentioning that Alex Lee, Kirsty Maull, Millie Baker, and Wood Green’s other players in their 2 teams were not far behind either.

Being involved in leading and sharing the coaching load is a privilege, and to be coaching over half of the players in division one of NCL is a dream come true for me. I have to pinch myself sometimes.

Well done to all involved.
