Charlotte Wong (Colebridge TTC and Warwickshire) was selected to represent England
Schools at the Primary Schools International from Friday 31st March to Sunday 2nd April at Oundle School, Northampton. Charlotte was playing alongside Hannah Saunders, Alyssa Nguyen, and Amber Lemmon in the England A team who all represented England together last year. The team’s non playing captain was Teresa Bennett.
England A dominated every match against the other 7 teams, winning each team match 10-0, with each player achieving 100% across all singles and doubles matches. Charlotte played doubles with Alyssa Nguyen in the team event.

In the group stages, Charlotte was seeded as the second player, however, won her group, beating all three of her opponents including the Welsh number 1.

V Amelie David: won 11-7, 5-11, 12-10, 11-6
In the first round of the knockout, Charlotte faced fellow England player, Grace Wang, winning 11-4, 11-7, 11-8.
In the quarter-finals, Charlotte faced number 1 seed, and eventual runner up, Hannah Saunders. Despite a good performance, Charlotte lost 3-11, 9-11, 7-11.
Charlotte had a great weekend, winning gold in the team event, and reaching the quarter-finals of the singles event. Coach Kate Hughes said; “Charlotte has had a fantastic weekend representing England Schools for the second year in a row at the Primary Schools International, winning the Team Gold medal once again, and reaching the quarter-finals in the singles event. Her confidence as a player has improved over the last 12 months, and to remain unbeaten in the team event is an excellent achievement. Charlotte has had a super season, including representing Colebridge in National Cadet League and the Warwickshire County Cadet 2nd team, and with several competition left (including the National Schools Individual Finals and the Inter Regional Finals), Charlotte has lots to look forward to. Well done.”
