West Midlands Cadet Girls, represented by Sophie Rinnhofer from Colebridge, and Wood Green’s Kirsty Maull and Amillia Baker (in the photo L-R), competed in the Inter-Regional Championships which took place on the 12/13th May at RAF Cosford in Wolverhampton.

The West Midlands girls finished 2nd in their group. West Midlands then faced East Midlands in the 3rd / 4th play off position, and won 3-0, securing the Bronze medal.
In the individual competition; Sophie Rinnhofer beat Ebony Hempsell 11-8,11-8, 11-6, and Ella Barnard 11-6, 11-7, 5-11, 11-7. Sophie played South East’s Scarlett O’Neil, and played superbly, narrowly losing out 12-10, 9-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-13. Having finished second in the group, Sophie then played Samadhi Udamulla in the knockout stages, losing 6-11, 8-11, 10-12.
This was another excellent weekend of table tennis for Sophie, who has another year as a Cadet yet to come, where she will continue to improve and progress. Well done.
