After last weeks Warwickshire Closed events had to be postponed thanks to heavy snowfall , todays events suffered no such misfortune and proved to be a very good day indeed for Colebridge members.

Warks. Closed results 2017/18;
Women’s singles; I beat Lisa Rinnhofer 3-2 in an exceptionally close final (well played Lisa; you pushed me all the way and were very unlucky).
Women’s doubles; Lisa and I were champions of a round robin event.
Men’s doubles; last minute pairing of Anthony Ellis and Ian Ferguson were the champions beating pairings from Lillington ( Lee Dorning and Sam Weaving) in the semi and Rugby Club ( Ryan Lines and Anshul Satsangi ) in the final, both 3-2.
Mixed doubles; Ian and I won the mixed doubles, retaining a title we last won together in 2013, thanks for playing with me again, despite my nerves!
Men’s singles; Ian beat Mark Jackson 3-0 in the semi and lost 10-12 in the 5th set to Lee Dorning in the final.
He played wicked, considering the new bat and no practicing. Good to see the proper Ian playing again.
Lots of Colebridge players involved today, so well done all!
