Falcons faltering flight.

Falcons 2 Chiefs 8. Match report by Neil Wheatley.

Chiefs completed a fairly routine 8-2 double over Falcons to keep themselves alongside Eagles at the top of Division 2. Mike Credland, fresh from some successful competition down in Cornwall, and Sam Henderson, were only briefly troubled, but Frank Cotter recorded his personal double with a 3-1 defeat of Neil Wheatley, who, having won the first game convincingly, once again, became completely discombobulated by the Irishman’s wily defensive skills. Neil wasn’t much better against Mahroof Hussain, who dropped only one game, when he abandoned his rarely seen steady pushing in favour of some extravagant hitting.

Mr B Oliver, keeping an eye on things, may fancy his team’s chances in the forthcoming top of the table clash scheduled for 19th February. He will know what to expect from Chief’s top two, but having lost all 3 sets against Eagles in the Chiefs’ first defeat of the season, Neil will have to come up with a cunning plan if he is to help Chief’s to reverse that result.
